Unsatisfactory Esthetics

Dr. Minton’s Prosthodontic training had a heavy emphasis on esthetics, and he trained under one of the world’s leading lecturers in the field of esthetics. There are several methods that can be used to improve the esthetics of your smile.

Bleaching
Bleaching teeth can reduce the brown and yellow discoloration of teeth.

Reshaping
Very minor reshaping of teeth in the appropriate areas can rejuvenate worn or chipped teeth.

Composite
White filling material can be used to restore the shape of teeth.

Veneers
Primarily for esthetics, veneers are made of all ceramics and can help restore the contour and shade of your teeth. They are used to close spaces, restore the shape and proportions of teeth, adjust the shade of your teeth and help correct a “gummy” smile. Great results require careful planning and often times the assistance of other specialists.

Worn Teeth

Occasionally, teeth can exhibit signs of wear caused by grinding. These signs include short, flat, or square looking teeth. Many times, patients are not aware that they grind their teeth. These teeth can be restored with a careful strategy and plan to reduce the effects of wear in the future.

Multiple Tooth Replacement

Fixed Partial Denture (“Bridge”)
Commonly called a “bridge”, a fixed partial denture can be used to replace a missing tooth by suspending a false tooth between two crowns. Metal, ceramics or a combination of the two may be used to restore the teeth. Dr. Minton can help you choose the appropriate material based on the location in the mouth, esthetic needs and tooth condition.

Implant Supported Fixed Partial Denture (“Bridge”)
An implant supported fixed partial denture or “bridge” can be used to fill in the space of multiple adjacent missing teeth. Metal, ceramics or a combination of the two may be used to restore the teeth. Dr. Minton can help you choose the appropriate material based on the location in the mouth and esthetic needs. There are different types of connections that can be used, and Dr. Minton can determine which style would be best for you.

Removable Partial Denture
Partial dentures offer an economical replacement of teeth and tissues lost after teeth have been extracted. Partial dentures involve acrylic teeth and pink base. They are retained with metal clasps around your existing teeth. In some cases, implants can be used to help reduce the need for the metal clasps, and Dr. Minton can help you determine if this is an option based on your anatomy and denture design.

Complete Dentures
Dentures offer an economical replacement of the teeth and soft tissues when teeth are lost. They can be used to gain fullness of the upper and lower lips. Dr. Minton likes to get a little artistic with dentures and enjoys customizing them for you.

Implant Supported Fixed Complete Denture
Fixed Complete Dentures are a wonderful alternative to removable dentures. The fixed complete dentures are permanently attached and can only be removed by your dentist. They are rock solid and can be made of either denture acrylic or ceramics for improved resistance to staining.

Single Tooth Replacement

Implant Supported Crown
An implant supported crown can be used to fill in the space of a missing tooth. Metal, ceramics or a combination of the two may be used to restore the tooth. Dr. Minton can help you choose the appropriate material based on the location in the mouth and esthetic needs. There are different types of connections that can be used, and Dr. Minton can determine which style would be best for you.

Crown
When teeth have been damaged and weakened due to decay, trauma or root canal therapy, a crown can be used to restore the shape, strength and function of the tooth. Metal, ceramics or a combination of the two may be used to restore the tooth. Dr. Minton can help you choose the appropriate material based on the location in the mouth, esthetic needs and tooth condition.

Full-Mouth Reconstruction

There are times when the whole mouth has experienced damage due to decay, wear and trauma. Dr. Minton was trained during his residency to comprehensively diagnose, plan and treat the conditions of the gums, teeth, occlusion and esthetics. With the help of the appropriate specialists, a staged treatment plan will be developed to restore your esthetics, health and function.

Implant Overdentures
Implants can be used to greatly improve the retention and stability of removable dentures. Studies have shown that the implant attachments actually improve the overall quality of life compared to patients without the attachments. There are multiple ways to attach the denture to the implants, and Dr. Minton can help determine the best alternative for you.
